The Internet, it is everywhere these days, you can get WiFi just about every place you go. The newest place you can get WiFi is in your car. If you watch TV today you might see an ad for Chevrolet where they advertise wireless internet in your car for an additional charge of 5 bucks a month. So your car is now a WiFi hotspot with 4G LTE coverage. That is amazing to me, you can make your car a WiFi hotspot and be connected anywhere you are.
Connectivity is the in thing these days and with this new service coming you vehicles it is easier than ever to stay connected. The one reason I would think that you would want wireless internet in your car is for long road trips, maybe make it a little bit more entertaining. In the commercial for Chevrolet they use the WiFi to keep the kids entertained.
Chevrolet advertises this differently on TV than on the web in their TV ads they show children using the WiFi but if you search on the website they are using it in different ways. They show folks using it on a construction site, as a mobile office. This can be a great thing. You can stream videos and music; you can connect up to 7 devices and stay connected no matter where you are.
But with every new thing some people will like it others won’t. I can see folks who don’t want to be connected all of the time not buying it, while others just won’t see the point or just don’t want to spend the money. Some also expressed concerns about the functionality of the technology in its early years. Of course everyone has a personal preference, but I think in the future of course this will be a standard feature. Hopefully by then we will have flying cars too, wouldn’t that be awesome?
