Mt Pleasant to Allow Bonfires

Mt Pleasant city commissioners approved an ordinance earlier this week that would allow city residents to have recreational fires in their yards this summer. The new ordinance clarifies outdoor cooking requirements and allows for outdoor recreational fires. It also allows special-event bonfires with a fee for a permit and approval from the fire chief. The new regulations take effect in 30 days.
