The attorney representing Mark Ranzenberger has asked a federal judge for leniency during his upcoming sentencing. Jeffrey Rupp cited Ranzenberger’s community service prior to his admission of possession of child pornography. As part of a plea deal, charges of Ranzenberger repeatedly raping a young girl were dropped in federal court, but he will be charged for the crimes in county court. Sentencing in federal court is set for 3:00PM on Thursday. Sentencing in county court will be January 13th at 11:00AM.
