The Broadway Theatre in downtown Mt Pleasant was forced to close its doors this winter because of furnace problems. But theatre staff hopes to stay open next winter with help from the community. The staff launched a ‘Heat the Seats’ fundraiser on GoFundMe to raise the $35,000 needed for a new heating system. Issues were first discovered in 2015 when the cast of a kids play was exposed to high levels of carbon monoxide.
