The Mt Pleasant City Commission reversed a 2015 decision to take holiday lights down from downtown in favor of unlit wreaths. On a 4-2 vote, the Downtown Development Board will spend $15,000 to buy and install LED lights on trees downtown. To remove annual installation costs, the lights will be left on the trees all year. The city commission also approved a proposal for matching funds for businesses using decorations in storefronts.
