The Mt Pleasant City Commission plans to consider two plans for holiday decorations downtown at a special meeting Wednesday night. A plan to eliminate lights from downtown this year in favor of unlit wreaths has been met with strong criticism. The city cites the high cost of operating the lights. Two plans to keep lights have been proposed, including the purchase of energy efficient LED lights, or a matching program with downtown businesses.
