Samples taken from several sites along the Chippewa River last Tuesday showed high or dangerous levels of E. coli once again. Samples taken from Chipp-A-Waters Park, Chippewa Road and Leaton Road contained dangerous levels. Meanwhile Majeske Landing, Meridian Park and School Road showed higher than desirable levels, but nothing the State of Michigan deems too high for full body contact.
In June, Isabella County commissioners were told that human waste was the source of much of the E. coli found in areas of the river last summer.
