A Mt Pleasant High School freshmen proposed the idea of adding an amphitheater to Island Park. Taylor Idema entered the pitch into the United Way-sponsored Pitcher-Er-This project in February and won. The project requires a community fundraising campaign to raise almost $90,000. The amphitheater could be used for theater, music, dance, ceremonies, holiday events and more.
