After closing the Mackinac Bridge to vehicle traffic during the 2017 Bridge Walk, the authority overseeing bridge operations will make another major change in 2018. Instead of walking across the bridge like in past years, those participating this year will be asked to start from either end, walk halfway across, then turn around and walk back. The cost of busing and safety issues were the reasons given.
