The city of Alma stopped its search for a public safety director amid questions surrounding the process. Mayor Greg Mapes announced the halting at Tuesday’s city commission meeting so the city can investigate the series of events that have transpired in the last several weeks. Questions arose about the process when Alma police Lt. Kendra Overla had her interview cancelled for undisclosed reasons by city manager Phil Moore on May 4th.
