Justin Verlander looked strong, but the Detroit Tigers offense and Francisco Rodriguez did not in a 2-1 loss to the Seattle Mariners Thursday at Comerica Park. Verlander allowed only one unearned run, striking out eight in 7 innings of work. K-Rod surrendered two hits in the 9th, giving the Tigers the loss.
