A hay fire that started Thursday morning on a farm in Ithaca continued to burn into the night. Firefighters were called to Vanderploeg Holsteins farm on Begole Road around 9:37AM. According to the Ithaca Fire Department Chief, farm operators were working with a piece of equipment that makes large bales of hay when some kind of hose broke and spilled onto the equipment, igniting the fire.
