A rare phenomenon in Vestaburg has garnered national attention from scientists. An ice disk in the shape of a perfect circle has formed in the Pine River at the Schmied Road bridge east of Pine Grove Road. A resident captured video of the disk, which has quickly spread over social media. Experts say the spinning disk has to do with the density of water when ice and liquid form, and how it melts.
