The Mt Pleasant Area Community Foundation recently awarded Mt Pleasant Parks and Recreation $4,600 to purchase four automated external defibrillators. The city plans to use the defibrillators at city parks that frequently host athletic events. The American Red Cross says AEDs save up to 50,000 lives each year.
