Goaltender Jared Coreau recorded his first career shutout, and the Detroit Red Wings picked up a much needed 4-0 victory over the Kings Thursday night in Los Angeles. Thomas Vanek scored two goals, while Andreas Athanasiou scored a goal with two assists. The Red Wings snapped a two-game skid with the win.
