The cost of vehicle registration isn’t the only travel related price increase coming in 2017. As part of the Michigan road improvement funding bill passed by the state congress nearly a year ago, the Michigan gas tax will climb about 7.3 cents per gallon. The state expects the tax to contribute about $400 million in new annual revenue for road projects. County road commissions will receive 39% of the funding.
