The Detroit Tigers made the controversial decision to pick up the option on manager Brad Ausmus for the 2017 season. The Tigers, however, did not extend his contract beyond the season. 47-year-old Ausmus is 250-234 as the Tigers manager since replacing Jim Leyland three seasons ago. Many fans, however, contribute the Tigers lack of success over the past two seasons to shortcomings by Ausmus.
