Results are in on a survey conducted by Union Township at the Center for Applied Research and Rural Studies at Central Michigan University to determine experiences and opinions about the township. Some of the key findings include a 70 percent satisfaction rate with local fire and recycling services, a 50 percent satisfaction rate with local parks and a strong desire to use funding to improve local roads.
Also, township officials adopted an ordinance to extend enforcement regulations for township parks to Indian Pines Park after a public hearing on Wednesday. The move comes after the city of Mt Pleasant approved a similar measure for the park on Monday. Some resident expressed concerns about accessibility to the park, and some neighbors expressed fear of trespassing on their property if people begin using the park.
