Central Michigan University sophomore Galen Miller started up a new non-profit organization called Pack Your Back this spring. The organization began collecting school supplies statewide to help students in poverty in Flint. Miller noted that about 42 percent of Flint residents live below the poverty line. Miller also wanted to help after donations dried up when news of the Flint water crisis stopped making headlines.
