Central Michigan University’s Development Board discussed the idea of a major concert in Kelly/Shorts Stadium in 2017. Owner of The Cabin, Wayside and Hunter’s Ale House, John Hunter proposed the idea to raise funds for CMU’s general fund while providing entertainment to students and the community. A show featuring Michigan native Kid Rock, or a country music festival were two of the ideas presented.
