Environmental experts at the Central Michigan District Health Department are now going to investigate further areas of the Chippewa River that contain high levels of E.coli. The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe’s environmental team found E.coli from human waste last summer. Faulty septic systems may be the cause. Although the river does not run near Beal City, there are drainage ditches that eventually empty into the Chippewa.
