Federal prosecutors are reviewing the accident report on a crash that killed a 4-year old girl and seriously injured her mother west of Mt. Pleasant earlier this month. Sheriff Michael Main said his department’s investigation into the Oct.4 accident was complete and that, after initially leaning toward sending the report to both Isabella County and federal prosecutors, the report was sent to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Bay City. Any decision on potential criminal charges will be made by either a federal prosecutor or a grand jury because the victims are Native American.
