A change to Michigan’s constitution that allows for early voting and fewer precincts, has prompted Mt. Pleasant election officials to reduce the number of precincts, saving money on elections. Proposal 2-22 gives municipalities the authority to increase precinct sizes to 4,999 registered voters and Mt. Pleasant is consolidating its (5) voting precincts to (3).
