Carlin Glynn, the actress who played the iconic mom in the 80’s classic “Sixteen Candles,” has passed. Actress Mary Stuart Masterson, Glynn’s daughter, announced the stage and screen actress passed on July 13th following a battle with dementia and cancer. Glynn began her career in the 1970s when she debuted in the 1975 film “Three Days of the Condor.” Glynn then moved to Broadway, where she played Mona Stangley in the Broadway production of “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.” She won a Tony Award in the Best Performance by a Featured Actress category in 1979. Glynn was 83.
