Recently we brought you the news that actor and 80s icon Dolph Lundgren revealed his long battle with cancer. Now fellow 80s icon- and Oscar nominee- Edward James Olmos has also let the world in on his secret battle with cancer.
“This would be the first time publicly I’ll be coming out and saying it, but I had throat cancer,” revealed the 76-year-old “Stand And Deliver” star. Olmos completed his last round of radiation in December shortly after his final chemo session. And the respected actor admits it took a heavy toll on his body.
“There were times in the months that I was undergoing the treatments that the body gives up,” Olmos confessed. “They wanted to put tubes in and feed me nutrients because I couldn’t swallow… That was ridiculous, that was so hard.” But despite his trials, making it through the ordeal has given Olmos an “understanding of how wonderful this life is.”
