Laura Bever will become the first woman to serve as Gratiot County’s prosecuting attorney. She replaces longtime prosecutor, Keith Kushion, who is retiring mid-term after 38 years. Ms. Bever, was appointed to the post by Circuit Court Judges Schlegel & Barkman and will finish out Kushions (4) year term that’ll end on Dec. 31st of 2024! She’s been an assistant prosecutor since 2020.
