Most employees of Isabella County will receive an extra holiday next year, thanks to an order earlier this year from the state supreme court. Courthouses across the state were ordered to close in honor of Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19th. Commissioners were told that giving everyone the day off would cost the county an additional $5,000 in unanticipated holiday pay.
