Johnny Depp and Amber Heard won’t be facing off in court anytime soon. Their $50-million defamation trial has been delayed… again. This time, to April 11th, 2022.

This is far from the first time the trial has been delayed. Before this latest push, the trial was set to start on May 7th of this year from January. Not due to Depp’s “Fantastic Beasts” shooting schedule – which isn’t an issue now since he’s been booted from the franchise – but rather, because of coronavirus. But on Tuesday, Virginia court officials delayed the trial by another year, for similar reasons according to “Deadline.”

The decision comes a week or so after Depp dragged Elon Musk and the ACLU into the Virginia case with subpoenas, after Heard did the same with Disney and the LAPD. For now, Depp has his appeal hearing to look forward to next month, related to the libel suit he lost against “The Sun.”
