Gina Carano is no longer part of “The Mandalorian” at Disney-Plus. The actress has reportedly been fired by Lucasfilm as she’s embroiled in a social media controversy.
Carano has been taking heat not only for her anti-mask and voter fraud conspiracy tweets, but also for comparing being a modern-day Republican to being Jewish during the Holocaust. The Instagram post has since been deleted, but not before the hashtag #FireGinaCarano started trending… and now Lucasfilm has answered fans’ call.
In a statement to “io9,” a rep for Lucasfilm says they have “no plans” to bring her back, denouncing” her “abhorrent and unacceptable social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities.” And according to “The Hollywood Reporter,” she’s been dropped by her talent agency, too.
