Ecstasy from the group Whodini is dead.

Ecstasy, whose real name was John Fletcher, was a founder of the hip hop group in the early 80s. Whodini put out a number of songs including “One Love,” “The Freaks Come Out At Night” and “Five Minutes of Funk.”

Jalil Hutchings, who formed the group with Ecstasy in 1982, announced his death on Facebook yesterday. Questlove also spread the news. Ecstasy died at the age of 56 and the cause of death is unknown.
