Just when you think you can’t love “The Daily Show” any more than you already do, they do something completely awesome. Trevor Noah and his crew took out a full-page newspaper ad offering faux legal services to Donald Trump, who was referred to as the “soon-to-be ex-president.”
The fake Trevor Noah & Associates & Sons legal group took out ads in “The New York Times,” “The Washington Post,” and “The Los Angeles Times” yesterday morning. They promised to defend against corruption, mega-corruption, shady rich guy tax stuff, and mail murder – among other things.
And the fake phone number – 1-210- WH-CRIME or 1-210-942-7463 – leads to a couple of pre-recorded prompts. “Press one if you’re the president of the United States or press two if you’re not.” If you press one, you get, “Hello, Mr. President. I’m Trevor Noah, managing partner of Trevor Noah & Associates & Sons,” he begins. “Have you ever been to Uganda, sir? It’s a beautiful country with a strong goat-based economy. And most important, it does extradite to the United States. At any time on or before January 20, 2021 I can transport you and any members of your family you actually like to Uganda. I can provide this service for, I don’t know, $10 million. Let me know.” If you press two, you get, “Congratulations on not being the president.”
