When you’re portraying a first responder you have to get it right.

That’s why Rob Lowe and Liv Tyler shadowed firefighters and medics on calls. Lowe, though, got to delve in deeper with firefighters when they were staged at his home last year during some intense California wildfires. The actor wasn’t afraid to ask the tough questions like “why?”

He did, however, feel bad about the shadowing part. he explained “So I’m with the fire brigade and they’re right by the area where Dodger Stadium is. That is an issue when you go out and train. People are like, ‘I don’t feel so safe with Rob Lowe standing there. I don’t feel like the real experts showed up.'”

Tyler says the on set fake emergencies really do trigger adrenaline rushes. In case you were curious.
