Anna Faris and her family are lucky to be alive after having a carbon monoxide poisoning scare over the Thanksgiving holiday. The 13 of them were at their vacation home in Lake Tahoe on Thanksgiving when they started feeling ill. Ultimately, two of them were taken to a local hospital where they were diagnosed with carbon monoxide poisoning. Later, two more were later taken to the hospital to be treated, and the other nine were treated at the scene.
According to the Fire Protection District, the indoor carbon monoxide level was six times higher than it should’ve been – and that was with windows and doors open for ventilation. Fire Chief Mike Schwartz said that Anna and her family are lucky to be alive after this incident. “Situational awareness is so important,” he notes. “Whether you are at home or traveling, it is important ensure that smoke and CO alarms are in working order anywhere you stay.” He also says it’s not a bad idea to consider bringing your own alarm when you travel, just to be safe.
