Kevin Spacey is off the hook in a second sexual assault case. We previously reported that the massage therapist who accused the actor of assaulting him during a home session in 2016 passed away. Now, Variety reports that the case has been officially dropped.
The accuser’s lawyer had previously slammed Spacey’s campaign for filing a notice of the plaintiff’s death so quickly, but the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office ultimately decided to dismiss the case. The DA’s office has released a statement stating that “the sexual assault allegations cannot be proved without the participation of the victim.”
The accuser has still not been identified. A source tells Variety that the massage therapist died of cancer. Still, there are MANY more investigations still pending – Spacey isn’t “in the clear” by any means.
