The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research is giving awaymillions for research and treatment of the disease. The charity is named for the beloved actor, who was diagnosed with the illness many years ago and launched his foundation, which has become the world’s largest nonprofit for Parkinson’s research and advocacy.
The foundation has funded $800-million over the last 19 years, and has just announced they will be giving away $24-million more in grants. The funding will be distributed in 127 new grant awards for projects aiming to learn more about, treat, diagnose, and measure progress of Parkinson’s disease.
