Hootie & The Blowfish is back. Darius Rucker and the gang were on “Today” to announce their first tour in more than a decade, with plans to release their first album in almost 15 years.
The “Group Therapy Tour,” featuring special guests the Barenaked Ladies, will kick off May 30th in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and consist of 44 dates, including shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden and Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl. It will wrap with a homecoming show September 13th in Columbia, South Carolina.
The band, which is celebrating the 25th anniversary of their hit album “Cracked Rear View,” also announced a new record deal, with BMG Nashville, the same label Darius is on as a solo performer, with plans for a new album, although details on a release date weren’t given.
Tickets for the new tour go on sale Friday.
