It looks like Christmas spirit is already in the air, as “The Grinch” was a massive success for its debut weekend, taking the first spot easily. The film made $66 million at almost 4,500 domestic theaters despite so-so reviews from critics.
“Bohemian Rhapsody” is still going strong in its second weekend with $30-point-nine million in earnings, taking the second spot. None of the other movies in the top 10 could make it close to those earnings, with newcomer “Overlord” coming in third with $10-point-one million dollars.
That goes for “The Girl In The Spider’s Web,” too, which flopped for its debut in the fifth spot with $8 million. It was outdone by “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms,” which took the fourth spot with $9-point-six million for its second weekend.
Here’s this weekend’s top 10 movies:
- “Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch” – $66 million
