The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is required to remove Social Security Numbers from all Medicare cards by April 2019. A new Medicare Beneficiary Identifier Number is replacing the Social Security Numbers on each new Medicare card that will be mailed out beginning this month in Michigan.
