The upcoming season of the hit CBS comedy “Big Bang Theory” will be the last. CBS, creator and producer Chuck Lorre and the studio issued a statement saying they would end the show after 12 seasons. The show was renewed before the 11th season for two years and its seven stars since the show began all agreed to take pay cuts so its two newer stars could get raises.
Season 11 ended in May with the wedding of the characters of Sheldon Cooper and his longtime girlfriend Amy Farrah Fowler but that may be small potatoes compared to what they are creating for the fans as a goodbye. The cast took to social media promising an amazing season leading up to a finale that will be a mind blowing one. They also thanked fans for their loyalty.
The series, which debuted in 2007, has received 52 Emmy nominations and 10 wins to date but has never won for Outstanding Comedy Series. The TV show “Young Sheldon” will continue on.
