Macy Johnston – Beal City

Macy is an amazing 2nd year Educational Careers student and she will be pursuing a teaching degree starting next Fall at Central Michigan University.  She is very hardworking and a great role model for her peers and elementary students.  Macy worked in a 2nd grade classroom her junior year and is currently working in a 4th grade classroom this year as a cadet teacher.  By the end of year she will have over 350 work experience hours in the classroom as a cadet teacher.  Macy can work with anyone and help them feel like part of the team.  She is also willing to jump in and help whenever needed. She gives 100% to everything she does from creating engaging activities/lesson plans to decorating bulletin boards.  She is creative, artistic and passionate and willing to put in the extra effort to make learning fun.

Macy works very hard in the classroom and takes her academics very seriously.  Outside of the classroom as she is also very involved with her community and school events. She is a four-year starter for Beal City High School’s softball and volleyball teams. When she is not playing sports you might find her working with the Key Club, Spanish Club, or NHS.

Macy will be an outstanding teacher and her students will love working with her.

Olivia Martin – Beal City

Olivia is an incredibly hard-working student committed to following her career pathway in accounting during her junior and senior years at GI-TEC. She has a natural talent for accounting and consistently goes above and beyond to gain a deeper understanding of the material. In class, she’s always a few chapters ahead, which shows her determination. Accounting can be challenging, but Olivia never shies away from tough problems—she always gives it her best shot before asking for help.

Beyond her academic and extracurricular achievements, Olivia has a quiet yet kind personality. She has a way of brightening the day for everyone around her, always offering a smile or a word of encouragement. Her presence in the classroom creates a welcoming and supportive environment, and both her peers and teachers appreciate her warmth and generosity.

Outside of the classroom, Olivia is just as dedicated. She’s a cheerleader for Beal City and is well-known as a team player. Her peers respect and look up to her for leadership and guidance. On top of all that, she’s also secured a co-op position this winter at Boge Wybenga & Bradley, which is an amazing opportunity to gain real-world experience in accounting.

With her strong work ethic, positive attitude, and leadership skills, Olivia would be a fantastic choice for Student of the Month. Out of all the students I’ve worked with, she truly stands out!

Adele Wylie – Mt. Pleasant

I am pleased to recommend Adele Wylie for student of the month at GI-TEC. As Adele’s Interior Design teacher for a second time, I have had the privilege of observing her exceptional academic performance and leadership abilities grow.

Adele has consistently demonstrated a strong passion for interior design and a keen eye for detail. This was particularly evident in her role as the lead organizer for the Interior Design float at the MPHS homecoming parade. She took charge of the project, speaking with other departments to borrow furniture pieces, creating detailed schematics to determine the optimal layout, and recruiting fellow students to participate. Her ability to coordinate this complex endeavor while maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude was truly impressive.

Furthermore, Adele has embraced the challenge of mastering career-specific software, such as AutoCAD, with a remarkable level of enthusiasm and dedication. Her willingness to go above and beyond the course requirements to expand the technical skills is a testament to her drive and commitment to her chosen field.

Academically, Adele has consistently performed at the top of her class, demonstrating a deep understanding of the principles of interior design and a keen analytical mind. Her polite and personable demeanor, combined with her action-based leadership style, have made her a valuable asset to our classroom community.
