Under a rule change from the Department of Natural Resources, certain e-bikes will now be allowed in state parks, forest lands, paved trails and just about any area where standard bikes were previously allowed. These areas are only open to Class One e-bikes for most riders, a designation that limits the power of those vehicles. People with disabilities requiring more assistance are able to request an annual waiver to use Class Two e-bikes, which still have a limit of 20 mph but can be operated with a throttle independent of pedaling.
