Not long after taking the stage Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania for a rally, former President Donald Trump was shot in the ear during an assassination attempt. Three other people were shot, with one killed on the scene and two more in stable condition as of yesterday. Most people on both sides of the political aisle issued calls for a “lowering of the temperature” in American politics including President Joe Biden, who made the remarks during a rare Oval Office address to the nation.
