Since last Saturday morning at 11am… personal fireworks are legal on private property within the city of Mount Pleasant. Under the city’s fireworks ordinance, adults over the age of 18 may legally discharge consumer fireworks until 11:45 p.m. through July 4 … with some exceptions: Fireworks may not be launched by those using alcohol, cannabis or other controlled substances. The manufacture and use of homemade fireworks are off limits within city limits. Pyrotechnics may not be used when the area is under a burn ban. Fireworks may not be launched on any property other than your own. Under city code, violators may face a misdemeanor charge and from $500 to $1,000 in fines.
