A local environmental organization has been awarded a state grant to assist with its’ effort in improving water quality here in Mid-Michigan. The Healthier Pine River group, based in Alma, has been given a $31,400 Watershed Council Support grant from the MDE, Great Lakes & Energy’s Nonpoint Source Program that helps local stakeholders reduce pollution & excess runoff by supporting efforts to develop & launch watershed management plans.
