Benedict Cumberbatch and his family reportedly experienced a distressing moment earlier this month when an angry chef named Jack Bissell broke into their home wielding a knife. The chef broke through an iron gate, spat on the intercom to the house, and damaged the intercom with their knife.
“I know you’ve moved here, I hope it burns down,” the chef apparently yelled when he broke into the house. Cumberbatch, his wife Sophie Hunter, and their three children were inside at the time of the attack.
Apparently, this attack didn’t come as a surprise to everyone in the town. A court was told that the chef had mentioned he wanted to burn down Cumberbatch’s home to a shopkeeper as he was doing his grocery shopping. The chef has a prior criminal record and has been apprehended. The exact date of the attack was not disclosed.
