Tim McCarver, a 2-time All-Star catcher and Hall of Fame broadcaster, passed away yesterday. His death was announced by the National Baseball Hall of Fame, which said he died yesterday morning in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was with his family. One of the most recognizable voices and faces in baseball broadcasting, McCarver stepped behind the mic shortly after retiring from playing in 1980. He worked the booth up until covid hit in 2020. McCarver was 81.
