Judge Lisa B. Lench ruled on Friday that Mel Gibson can testify in support of his masseuse and friend, known as “Jane Doe No. 3,” against Harvey Weinstein. Weinstein is accused of committing sexual battery by restraint against the women, one of 11 rape and sexual assault counts in the trial. The trail is expected to last eight weeks, and jury selection continues today. Opening statements are expected next Monday.
