An 80-year-old Lapeer County man is dead following a house fire on Wednesday morning. Lapeer County 911 received a call from him stating his house was on fire. It apparently started at the stove & spread to the interior walls. The man said he couldn’t breathe & tried exiting the home before he stopped responding to the 911 operator.
