Chris Pratt and his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger will serve as global ambassadors for the Special Olympics next year. They took to Instagram to make the announcement, with Pratt writing that they’re both “humbled and honored” by the distinction.
“Come with us as we rocket the #InclusionRevolution to new heights!” the actor writes in his post. He also thanks Marvel Studios for “taking the lead and committing to hire a Special Olympics athlete as a paid production assistant on the set of #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3.”
Katherine also shared the same selfie of the couple on Instagram, along with some details about her prior involvement with the Special Olympics. “Special Olympics has always been a huge part of my life,” she writes. Both her mother, Maria Shriver, and her grandmother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, are Special Olympics advocates. She adds, “Chris and I are so thrilled to be a part of the SO family as a couple.”
- The Special Olympics Games will be held in June 2022 in Orlando, Florida.
