Gregory Sierra has died. The 83-year-old succumbed to cancer on January 4th in Laguna Woods, California. His breakthrough came as Julio on “Sanford & Son” opposite Redd Foxx’s Fred Sanford. After leaving that show, he went on to play one of the original detectives on “Barney Miller.” Later, he had recurring roles on “Hill Street Blues,” “Miami Vice,” and “Murder, She Wrote.”
